About the event
The Southern Chorale has a long history of excellence at The University of Southern Mississippi, home to the most comprehensive School of Music in Mississippi.
Membership consists primarily of junior and senior voice majors and graduate students in voice and conducting.
The Southern Chorale has been chosen to perform at state, regional, and national conferences on fifteen occasions over the past eighteen years, including two national conventions and three regional conventions.
In addition, the Chorale has been featured at festivals or concert series in South Korea, Norway, Sweden, Jamaica, Romania, Hungary, Mexico, Austria, The Czech Republic, France, England, and throughout the United States since 2003.

This program includes three selections from a recent premiere of St. Michael Songs by Estonian composer Tõnu Korvits. In January of 2023, Kõrvits will host The Southern Chorale on tour in Latvia and Estonia as they present St. Michael Songs in Riga, Viljandi, Tartu, and Tallinn.
